Reflexology

Reflexology is a science that states there are reflex points in the hands and feet that correspond to all the muscles, organs and glands in the body.  Some of the benefits of reflexology are relief of stress, muscle tension, aches and pains, stimulation of the bowel function, stronger immune system and improved circulation.  It can also help in your detox program.

A reflexology session begins by using relaxation techniques of the head, ears, hands and feet.  Pressure is then applied to certain areas of hands and feet.  The feet have the most nerves that connect with the Central Nervous System, which in turn sends signals to specific areas in the body.  According to scientific methods and studies a sensitive area may indicate an imbalance in a specific area of the body.  Also, according to reflexology charts, working these sensitive areas can bring back the specific part of the body into a state of homeostasis (balance).  Applying pressure and holding the reflex area may be painful, but this will release healing energy through the nerves and the sensitivity will diminish over a period of time.  Regular sessions are recommended for best results.  Results will vary with each person.  Pain in these sensitive areas should not exceed a 5 or 6 on a scale of 1-10.  Feedback is important in order to provide the best results and a positive healing and relaxing experience.
